Final Thoughts On The 2008 NBA Draft
This year's draft was decidedly more calm and casual than the Oden/Durant showdown, which made for a more candid and personal experience.

Grading The Deal: Knicks Sign Duhon
The Knicks overpaid for a below average starting point guard, but the move should still pay dividends.

Oh Danny Boy
Danny Granger, who has just three years of NBA experience under his belt, will undoubtedly be the man in Indiana beginning this summer.
$10 Million For Five Players?
The Orlando Magic will be limited by the NBA's Luxury Tax in terms of filling the remaining spots on their roster. It is also possible it could cost them Keyon Dooling or Maurice Evans.
Raptorland’s New Carnivore
The Raptors are bringing in a player who will have an immediate impact (unlike Hibbert or whomever the Raptors would’ve drafted at 17), plays a position of need (unlike Ford,) and carries a reputation of intimidation (unlike Nesterovic).

With a lot of the Boston Celtics’ off-season rumours focusing on the Celtics’ plans for Paul Pierce, Antoine Walker has quietly been involved in a few rumours. Most notably with Houston, New York and now Sacramento. I’m going to look at the most likely sign and trade scenarios with these teams and then we will look at some dark horses for Antoine’s services. Keep in mind Antoine may do the unthinkable and sign for the MLE, instead of being involved in a sign and trade.

The Houston Rockets have a hole at power forward with Juwan Howard being sidelined, and no suitable backups. In this writer’s opinion Walker isn’t a very good fit for this team. Stromile Swift would be a much better fit. Walker will take away shots away from Ming and McGrady and won’t make a big improvement on the boards for the Houston. Likely trade: Houston expirers, Clarence Weatherspoon and David Wesley for Antoine Walker. Boston gets tradeable assets, and two defensive minded veterans to wotk with the young players for a while.

The New York Knicks have always had a soft spot for Antoine Walker. Why? I couldn’t honestly tell you. Isiah Thomas seems intent on bringing in players that are not very desired elsewhere. I.e. Jamal Crawford, Quentin Richardson and to a lesser extent the Knicks’ pursuit of Wally Szczerbiak. The Knicks have a lot of expirers so a deal with Boston makes sense; well not for the Knicks as previously stated but it makes sense for Boston. Ainge should be able to extract an expirer and some young talent for Walker. A possible scenario (Ainge and Thomas are very unpredictable): New York odd man out, Anfernee Hardaway, and a young talent (Frye, Robinson, Lee or Sweetney) for Antoine Walker and Mark Blount. If the Knicks want Walker bad enough, make them take Mark Blount as well.

The Sacramento Kings are also looking at Walker to fill their void at power forward. Kenny Thomas did an admirable job, but the Kings seem to think they need a new power forward. Well Walker is an upgrade at least. Possible scenario: Greg Ostertag, Corliss Williamson and Kevin Martin for Antoine Walker.

The Dark Horses:

Miami, Milwaukee, New Jersey, Cleveland, LA Lakers, Minnesota, Philadelphia and San Antonio have been trying to lure Shareef Abdur Rahim, Walker would be a good second choice for any of these teams. I would love to see Walker end up in Milwaukee in a sign and trade for Desmond Mason. Although, I don’t think it’s overly likely that Milwaukee will move Mason.
